Designing Hints

Designing your art can be one extreme or the other. It can be exciting and a lot of fun, or it can be a daunting task for which you have no idea where to start.

This page is designed to give you some ideas which will hopefully make this process a little easier for you if you don't know where to start.

Lets start with a canvas. I have designed a graph page for you to use. When you print it, print it at 100% size, and ensure your printer margins are set to no more than .5 (1/2) inch.  You will see the lines are REALLY light, and this is so you can draw over them easily while using them as a guideline for your art.  I work with a number of different clients, so this page is designed to work with everyone. If you are looking to design a logo/patch in a circular format, you will see there are three circles near the top of the page. These circles are three, four and five inches respectively. Simply work within the size you want. At the bottom of the page is a traditional size velcro "name plate." Typically, these are one inch by four inches with 1/2 inch font text. There are some dashed lines to help you keep your text at an appropriate size.

If you are looking for someone else to handle your design, I can take care of this for you. Of course, I need somewhere to start, and this means I need to 'see' the image in your mind. However you can get this to me will be fine. I have generated a number of logos from the napkin sketch someone has given me.
